As a core driver of Emerald’s growth initiatives, this new position will serve as a key partner to our leadership team to identify new business ventures and product extensions by providing actionable recommendations based on assessments of both existing and potential markets and competitors.   The Director of Strategic Analysis will be responsible for three key areas: - Identifying and collecting customer, competitor, market, economic, financial, and/or operational data around existing and potential new business ventures - Performing financial, statistical, quantitative, and qualitative data analysis of markets and opportunities - Translating these analyses into clear, executable recommendations, delivered via both written reports and live presentations.   The best candidate for this position will be equally effective and confident across tactical research, deep technical analysis, and strategic, concise, and effective communication. The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting and Tax in a variety of corporate accounting functions, including monthly and quarterly close; maintenance of cash forecasting files; general ledger account analysis; preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations; balance sheet and income statement analysis; management of stock-based compensation software, compliance with US GAAP, external and internal audits, design, implementation, and/or improvement of processes and internal controls; and other ad-hoc projects as necessary. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Tax. The Senior Accountant is a critical member of our small accounting and reporting team. The best candidate for this position will possess the ability to work independently as well as within a team, and have exemplary written and verbal communication skills. In addition, you must thrive in a dynamic environment, be detail oriented, and be able to work under pressure.
